There was a time when Microsoft Word had zero competition. But in current scenario a user has multiple options, several Word Processing Software are now available in the market. However Microsoft Word still remains the leader in its class. In Word 2007, Microsoft® introduced a brand new user interface and replaced the conventional menu bar with ribbon style. Word 2007 also offers so many new features to beautify and to make your Word Documents more professional.
If you want to “Rotate Text in Word 2007”, please keep in mind, you can’t do this by typing directly on to the default Word Page. However, it is possible to rotate text in Word 2007 by typing your text into the “Text Box”. You can do this by following the steps below.
- Click the “Insert” tab
- Locate and click “Text box”
- A dropdown menu will appear as shown in the picture below

- There are many built-in text box styles you can choose from. I personally prefer to “Draw Text Box” instead of choosing from “Built-in Text Boxes”, so in this example I am using the option I prefer to Rotate Text in Word 2007
- Draw a text box Type your text in it
- Select the text you typed and go to “Format” tab (the last tab on the top ribbon, that only appears when you click inside the text box)
Click “Text Direction” button multiple times to check all the available directions, and choose one that best fits your Word 2007 document (see the picture below).
