Microsoft Word Help is the place where you read a new “How To” about Microsoft Word every day. Last week I received many emails from my blog readers asking about “Word Count in Word 2007”. I already published a blog post Character Count in Word 2007, in which I discussed the topic in detail.
Well, many of the readers asked me that “is it possible to replace Word Count with Character Count in Word 2007?”
The short answer to your question is “NO!”
Detail
You can only add things into the status bar that Word 2007 offers into the “Customize Status Bar Menu”. You can add or remove “Word Count” but you can’t replace it with “Character counter”. However it is possible to add it into “Quick Access Tool Bar”. If you wish to see the complete statistics of your document then simply click “Words” located at the left corner of your Word 2007 Status bar. Doing this will open the Word Count Dialog box where you can see all the information about your document e.g. Total Number of Pages, Total Word Count, Total Number of Characters (with and without spaces), Paragraphs and Lines etc.
